Artist's Comments

A painting I painted for a national competition called UKM. I got through to the county-final which is in march in Bodo. :)

While I was painting this I was very inspired by Gustav Klimt, and his paintings. Especially the paintings from his golden period.

The first impression is very nice. Your artwork is very aesthetic and immediately catches attention due to colours and texture. It's also nice to see some good traditional art. You captured the feeling and Atmosphere very similar to Klimt artworks. I like the blue and red tones of her skin and of course golden fabric, as well as the feeling of somehow dynamic background, it contrast well with stoic figure. I don't like however the colour of the background; it's too lively, I think it would look better if you would tone it out a little, make it calmer. Beside it it's very pleasant to look at.
